The cells, monitored by the object beside the vase, grow on the glass structure, on the outside of vase.
New nature, labnature.
The project is about our changing relationship towards nature, in which we impose our will to living matter on a microbiological level. What will future nature look like? We can impose our will on living and growing matter, what is the outcome of our urge to create?
Growing vase. Labnature.
When we use software to alter living cells, what kind of new lifeforms can we create? Project, ‘NeoBio’, about our changing relationship towards nature in which we impose our will to living matter on a microbiological level. This vase is growing on the outside of a nonliving glass structure.
What if we could use computersoftware to create living vases? The living cells would be growing on the outside of a structure and we could alter the form, just the way we would predict it in the software. The cells would be controlled by the little element in contact with its veins. The small object in contact with it’s veines, is monitoring the cells and can be programmed. The outside of the vase needs some water. Design Studio Dáárheen 2018 |
